Official text and translations
The official text of the Constitution of Kenya (2010, as amended) is published in English by the National Council for Law Reporting (Kenya Law) and is in the public domain. Translations into Kiswahili and other languages are provided to help you understand the Constitution. They have been prepared and referred to official sources to the best of our knowledge, but they are not official. If any translation differs from the official English text, the official English text prevails.
Simplified explanations
The “Simplified Constitution” and “Civic Education” sections are our own plain-language summaries and guides. Each simplified statement is linked to the exact article it explains, so you can always check the original. These explanations are not the law.
