Your rights as a worker

Every worker has the right to fair pay, reasonable working conditions, and to form or join a trade union. (Article 41)

The right to health

Everyone has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, and no one may be refused emergency medical treatment. (Article 43)

Treating patients with dignity

Every patient has inherent dignity that must be respected. (Article 28) Patients also have rights as consumers of services. (Article 46)

Speaking up

You have the right to freedom of expression, including academic and scientific freedom, and you may report unsafe or unlawful conditions. (Article 33)

Why it matters

A strong health system depends on health workers who are safe, fairly paid and respected. Protecting their rights protects patients too.
